About the Role:
As Urban Sky’s Government Proposal Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the government proposal writing and submission process for new government programs and projects. This role presents an exciting and unique opportunity to be the first Proposal Manager at a rapidly growing company, helping to shape the company’s future development and establish new funding programs that drive critical internal R&D programs and new product opportunities.
The Urban Sky Microballoon system is being developed alongside several government partners including the National Science Foundation, The Air Force Research Laboratory, and NASA.
As the Government Proposal Manager, you’ll actively keep tabs on upcoming SBIR/grant/gov’t contract opportunities and be responsible for leading the proposal process (to include actual technical writing and proposal submittal). This role requires exceptional proposal development skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in written form.
We’re looking for an organized, self-starting team lead who can help drive government funding of new R&D initiatives through a disciplined proposal writing and submission process. In this role, you would be reporting directly to the Co-founder/CEO, but working closely with the company’s Co-founder/CTO as well.
Key Functions:
Proposal Writing:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical information and requirements for proposals.
Write, edit, and review technical proposal documents, ensuring compliance with guidelines and requirements.
Create compelling narratives that articulate the company's technical solutions and value proposition.
Manage the proposal development process, including proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in proposal writing related to highly technical engineering environments.
Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships across a diverse team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Disciplined & detail-oriented organizational skills.
Strong technical writing and proposal development experience.
Some knowledge of government acquisition processes, SBIR/STTR, FAR/DFARS regulations, etc.
Nice-to-Haves
Have had exposure to large SBIR/STTR/OTADoD programs
Direct experience with the SBIR gov’t proposal process.
Additional Requirements
Must be US Citizen located or willing to relocate to Denver, CO
Benefits:
Salary $75,000 - $105,000 per year
We are required to post this salary range per Colorado law. Your salary will be determined based on your abilities and experience.
This role would include a stock option offering which would be in addition to the posted salary range.
